Rachel aspires to guide her clients to explore more deeply about who they are. Whether working with her on an individual basis or as a couple, she hopes to help clients discover their strengths, kindly uncover burdens and concerns, and become more aware of their own values, desires, and expectations that impact their life.

About RACHEL

Rachel (she/her/hers) is passionate about working with adults, parents, and couples to help them cultivate healthier relationships with themselves and others through self-compassion. She enjoys collaborating with clients to build tailored coping skills and self-care strategies that empower them to navigate life’s challenges and transitions. Well-versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rachel is also drawn to the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She provides a warm, nurturing, and compassionate, person-centered approach, while gently encouraging growth and positive change in her clients.

Rachel earned her Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2009, after obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Psychology in 2005. With over 10 years of experience in the mental health field, Rachel has worked with adults and forensic populations across community mental health, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), and inpatient psychiatric settings. Throughout her career, she has also taken time off to care for her young family, giving her a deep understanding of life’s evolving challenges and rewards.

Rachel is excited to bring her knowledge and experience to Thrive Postpartum, Couples, and Family Therapy, where she helps individuals and couples navigate the complexities of partnership, marriage, and family life in meaningful, transformative ways.

Gottman Level I, II, & III Trained – Rachel is extensively trained in the Gottman Method, having completed Levels I, II, and III of Gottman Couples Therapy. She utilizes Gottman-specific interventions to help couples build stronger, more meaningful connections.

Perinatal Mental Health - Rachel has completed a 2-day training in the Assessment and Treatment of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), as well as an Advanced Psychotherapy Training Course through Postpartum Support International. She is currently working toward her Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) and is an active member of Postpartum Support International.
