Katie Kmiecik


Katie is known for expertise in her field as well as her professional yet approachable persona. She is seasoned therapist and speaker and has been interviewed by several Chicago-land television stations.

About Katie

Katie co-founded Postpartum Wellness Center, LLC in 2013.  Katie has been providing case management and counseling services to perinatal women, couples and families for over 10 years.  

Certifications and appointments

Certified Perinatal Mental Heath Specialist: Katie has extensive post-graduate training in the assessment and treatment of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs). In additional to the Postpartum Support International training, Katie has gone on to complete Karen Kleiman's landmark postgraduate clinical training in PMADs.

Related, Katie has participated as a clinician in a postpartum mood and anxiety disorders program and specializes in working with moms of babies currently in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.  She has traveled to local hospitals to assess and treat women deemed at risk for perinatal mood disorder by the hospital social worker and has also been the co-facilitator of a weekly postpartum depression support group. 

Postpartum Support International: Katie is an educator and presenter for Postpartum Support International's Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders Training.

Professional Speaker and Trainer: Katie has also been a professional speaker and trainer for 10 years. She has written, copywrited, edited, and managed three different psychoeducational programs.  She has presented to thousands of teens, parents, educators, and clinicians. 


Katie graduated with her BA in Sociology from Wesleyan University and her MA in Community Counseling at Roosevelt University.
